i am interested in the ways we hold and transform grief; how we are impacted by living a life that has been touched by the deaths of acquaintances, friends, and loved ones. this piece explores my own experience of compounding love and grief from living in proximity to the toxic drug crisis.

the linear path suggests a timeline, but also the act of carrying something with you. a variety of different clays, as well as ceramics and woodcarving methods went into this creation, resulting in distinct resonances that can be triggered in different ways. my own compounding experiences of grief have overtime become interwoven and interconnected, informing how i engage with individual losses and changing how my experiences resonate with one another. this work invites viewers to consider their own histories: how losses accumulate, how they accompany us, and how they continue to sound long after the initial moment has passed.
